Silas Morlock takes a step
So we step closer to the shadows of a dark future, as envisioned in my dystopian urban fantasy, Silas Morlock, with the news that the first stage of the editing process is near completion.
The other day, Peter - my editor at Inspired Quill (IQ) - got in touch to say he'd almost completed this essential step towards my novel becoming a published reality. Once it's done, the manuscript will be back in my eager hands, ready for me to do my bit - so let's hope I can measure up and deliver the goods.
I can almost hear Silas now, whispering in the back of my head, "Don't fail me now..."
Well, rest assured, that's not part of the plan, although I must confess to a certain sense of 'stage fright' as I contemplate the edited manuscript. But as the saying goes, 'it'll be all right on the night' - and I am looking forward to seeing what Peter has done to take my author's draft towards its conclusion as a polished novel.
When it is finally released, Silas Morlock will be my second published novel - following the self-publication of Citizen Zero - and the first to be published by an independent publisher, so these are exciting times for this author.
Silas Morlock was signed up in late 2011 and is scheduled for release later this year. So watch out - Silas is coming closer...
